About CHART

Children’s Help and Assistance for Residential Treatment (CHART) is a national non-profit organization comprised of dedicated professionals and parents who work with emotionally challenged, adopted children. CHART is designed to educate families about residential treatment options so that they can make informed decisions about their children’s future.

Focus on adopted children 9 to 13 years old

While the educational component is available to anyone, only parents of adopted children 9 to 13 years old with a major depressive disorders or mood disorder diagnosis who reside in Colorado and Arizona may apply for emergency grants. CHART hopes to eventually expand the geographic reach of the grant program.

CHART has four goals:

  1. Provide information to aid parents in choosing an appropriate residential treatment center that meets the child’s individual needs
  2. Fund up to 3 months of residential treatment center tuition through grants
  3. Provide information on state and local funding programs that help manage residential treatment center expenses
  4. Provide personal/family fiscal education
