Just as abdominal pain isn’t necessarily appendicitis, many things can be causing your adopted child to act out. COMPASS-Eval™ is a computer driven evaluation of your child’s behaviors. This process may take several hours. The results are then sent for review to a professional you choose such as a therapist, physician, social worker, or educational consultant. It is then read by a trained medical professional.
COMPASS-Eval™ stands for “Comprehensive Overview of Medical, Psychosocial and Academic Strengths and Struggles.”
CHART requires that all parents applying for the CHART Grant complete COMPASS-Eval’s Parent Interviews and Care Optimized Placement Inventory (COPI).
Consultants and professionals use the COMPASS-Eval™ to thoroughly understand your child and help guide you in selecting an RTC that most closely matches your child's needs.
COMPASS-Eval™ is only for use with a professional, such as a physician, psychologist, social worker, or educational consultant.
There are two ways to get COMPASS-Eval™.
If your medical professional or educational consultant is not already using COMPASS-Eval™, direct them to this website http://growingminds.info/. Make sure they understand that the evaluation is a requirement for a CHART grant.
If you are having difficulty finding a professional to work with the COMPASS-Eval™, CHART can mail you a disk for you to fill out in the privacy of your own home. Telephone CHART at 520-749-2151 or email CHART at maryannchart@q.com.
